Durtnell was very pleased to be awarded the £6 million contract for redevelopment of the Museum’s gallery space. The project has four main elements. Durtnell will be revamping the museum’s learning centre and theatre, installing two new staircases and lifts, refurbishing the glazing and courtyard of the main gallery and creating the new City Gallery which includes a glass frontage overlooking London Wall. The latter will enable passers-by to see the magnificent Lord Mayor’s Coach. The work is part of multi-million pound facelift that will thoroughly modernise the galleries.

» Household Cavalry Museum at Windsor

The Household Cavalry Museum at Windsor represents over 300 years of military history and reflects the unique ceremonial and operational role of the Regiment. Home to the regimental archive and library, Combermere Barracks at Windsor is being completely reorganised and refurbished by Durtnell Special Works to form part of a new collection resource and education facility for historians and schools, that will form part of a two centre Household Cavalry Museum based in Windsor and London, Horse Guards Parade.
