Durtnell was appointed to carry out the removal of temporary classrooms and the construction of a new classroom block extension at first floor level. 

The extension, whose external envelope included both cedar weather-boarding with a metal roof and extensive curtain-walling, also contained a lift to facilitate access for disabled pupils.

Works included the underpinning of existing structures, the construction of the steel frame, and the internal fitting out of the newly constructed classroom block.
