The new performing arts centre occupies a sloping site, overlooking Knole Park.  The project comprised the demolition of the existing squash courts and two-storey changing block, and the development of a new drama and music teaching facility with adjoining auditorium, together with improvements to the existing Sackville Theatre.

It had a highly sustainable, low energy design and combined high quality acoustic design with extensive daylighting; its innovative natural ventilation system used borehole ground water for cooling.
