Buildings of Public Interest

Durtnell is renowned for its expertise in the restoration, refurbishment and conversion of buildings of public or historic interest. Such contracts require a sympathetic approach to construction, often using traditional materials and techniques to achieve period finishes. Our methodology is strongly in favour of repair rather than replacement, trying to retain as much of the original fabric as possible for example structural timbers, doors, windows and so on.

The skilled craftsmen we use are trained in a range of building trades and are specialists in their field - joiners, carpenters, painters and decorators, bricklayers, leadworkers and stonemasons to name but a few.
