» Domiciliary Detox Unit, Kingston
The Kaleidoscope Project in Kingston-upon-Thames was a learning centre and detox unit for drug addiction.
Durtnell constructed a striking, four-storey, split level, multi-purpose building for the Project, providing officeaccommodation and training facilities on the first three floors and a six-bed domiciliary detox unit on the fourth floor.
The building was connected to the Employer’s existing hostel building at plant room and fourth floor level and by way of the existing lift. The building was light and airy, and was decorated in bright primary colours and included a range of facilities including an IT learning suite, music studio and art workshop.Winner of a Kingston Society Townscape Awards 2004.
