Durtnell has a rigorously enforced policy of safe working throughout the organisation and employs a dedicated Safety Manager.

Our comprehensive health and safety policy and procedures are communicated to staff and anyone involved in our construction activities through induction training, memos, communiques and regular toolbox talks. The policy is reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that we meet all legislative standards and are following best industry safety practices.

Our staff regularly attend technical safety courses, including CDM and all operatives are trained in first aid, site safety and plant awareness.

Durtnell has achieved accreditation to the Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) having demonstrated compliance with and sound management of current health and safety legislation. CHAS was developed by Local Authority Health and Safety professionals and is supported by the HSE.

Durtnell is a member of The Construction Health and Safety Group which is one of the premier safety groups and main providers of construction safety training in the country.
